The "Gold and Silver Waltz" by Franz Lehar has always been my very favourite waltz, so tonight, when I stumbled across this George Balanchine version from his 1977 ballet Viennese Waltzes, I couldn't believe my luck. This is, I think, a 1983 performance, judging from the youthful appearance of Peter Martins, here partnering Karin von Aroldingen.
